Job Description:
The Health Analytics Consultant will be responsible for analyzing health client (Payer and Provider) heath informatics requirements and leading functional design of advanced descriptive and predictive analytics solutions (including executive dashboards, descriptive reporting solutions (BI), and advanced predictive analytics / data mining capabilities). The role will focus on requirements analysis, functional solution definition design and test requirements definition. In addition, the HASD will act as the coordinator between the functional design teams and the teams implementing the physical / technical solution design to ensure the analytics solutions are meeting users technical and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements definition, functional solution design and support for the development and test of Health Analytic/Informatics solutions.
Analytic solution design (requirements definition, functional solution design and functional test solution design) for the development of health reporting solutions and analytics solutions
Assist/Lead in the development of Conceptual/Logical Data Models that are the data blue prints for analytic solution development
Assist/Lead in defining and reviewing requirements and use cases and functional / performance test scenarios for the health Informatic/Analytic applications/solutions.
Use the business process requirements to drive out application requirements and metrics.
Design the applications to meet the business process design and application requirements.
Validate the design with the stakeholders to ensure that the design satisfies the requirements.
Provide consulting to users and other developers on how to effectively design and deploy BI solutions
Perform impact analysis on functional and semantic designs to ensure solution meets performance requirements
Ability to work and interact with key client team members levels to ensure solution meets the business requirements:
Work with the Business Analysts and acts as the Health Informatics (Reporting/Analytics) SME to ensure solutions meet the business requirements
Work with the Data Architect and act as semantic architect to ensure solutions meet the functional and performance requirements
Support integration testing and UAT
Provide guidance and leadership to the BI/analytic development teams to ensure data integration activities around base and aggregate tables align with the functional designs and data models
Knowledge of full life cycle development methodologies
Mentorship of junior analysts and solution developers
Ability to work collaboratively with offshore development teams and to provide guidance to ensure quality deliverables
Ability to meet travel requirements, up to 100% (Monday-Thursday)
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience with any major BI / Analytic tool (e.g. Business Objects, SAS, Cognos, MicroStrategy, and SPSS)
Minimum 5 years of IT experience
Minimum 2 years of experience gathering requirements and analyzing data
Undergraduate Degree
Preferred Skills: Experience with physical modeling, building database views and SQL performance tuning.
Experience with project management or program management in health informatics
